Races in Sonoma

Went out to watch the races at Infineon raceway this last Sunday. Saw some real nice bikes, there was even a fellow on a newer MV Agusta, guess he must be sponsored, or crazy. It always surprises me how fast the bikes are actually moving, and how far they can lean and still stick. I've been giving it some thought, I figure production 250's is a good place to start, the competition is pretty level and that the machines are cheap and keep going. It's not as fast as I want to go but it will give me practice with the crazy starts, and passing techniques. I also decided that 250gp is plenty fast and looks very fun. Walking around every turn and watching other riders gave me a good idea of lines, shifting, braking and weight distribution on the entire track. After awhile the track didn't look as complicated, small and slow as it did when I first got there. I've also figured that I'm going to need help with this, and I'll need someone to drive the truck home when I put myself in the hospital : ). It was a perfect day and it was fun to watch, and it only made me want to do it more. Cheers to all the riders that day, and I hope everyone who got to see the inside of the ambulances are okay.
